1. Who we are
Saad Auto Mechanics Ltd (trading as Saad Body Works) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and during the booking and servicing of your vehicle. We are registered in England & Wales under Company Number 11431237, with registered office at Unit 2, 70 Camelot Way, Small Heath, Birmingham, B10 0NN.
2. What we collect
- Contact details you give us when booking (name, phone, email).
- Your vehicle's registration plate and the work you ask us to do.
- MOT test results we submit to the DVSA on your behalf as required by law.
- Limited technical data when you visit this website (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) - only if you accept analytics cookies.
3. Why we use it
- Legitimate interest: to reply to your enquiry and arrange the work.
- Contract: to carry out the service you've booked, take payment, and provide an invoice.
- Legal obligation: MOT records submitted to the DVSA, accounting records kept for HMRC.
- Consent: optional analytics cookies, only after you accept the cookie banner.
4. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies that allow the site to function. With your consent we may also set anonymous analytics cookies to understand which pages are most useful. No cookies are set until you click "Accept all". You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share only what's needed with:
- The DVSA (for MOT testing records).
- Parts suppliers when we need to source a specific part.
- Our accountant and HMRC for tax purposes.
- Hosting providers (Cloudflare) and the email service that delivers your enquiry to us.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry emails: up to 24 months. Invoices and customer records: six years (HMRC requirement). MOT records are held by the DVSA according to their own retention schedule.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask for a copy. To exercise any of these rights, call us on 0121 794 1537 or message us on WhatsApp.
8. Complaints
If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) - the UK's independent supervisory authority for data protection.
